Raising awareness of the dangers of articulated lorries on the tight streets of London.
It’s been proposed that we make laminated cards (stick ‘em in your spokes, pass them on to another cyclist once you’ve got the message) as a way of virally raising awareness amongst cyclists in London about what can happen when trucks turn left. The point of this most certainly is NOT to imply in any way that accidents happen because of cyclists not paying attention, accidents can happen because truck drivers can’t see might not be looking for cyclists on the inside. So the view we’re going for at the moment is to tell people to watch out for trucks because they will not be watching out for you.
Draft/Proposed laminated cards include:
By and large most of us agree that using the word ‘suicide’ does not help, and possibly implies that cyclists are the only party at fault should they undertake and that leads to an accident. So those ones won’t cut the mustard with their current text. The squish zone of the truck turning is promising though.
My personal favourite’s are the two on the left and the one on the top right.

I would change “can’t see”, to “might not be looking”.
At Last people are taking an active stand on the number of bicycles accidents and deaths on London roads.
I have posted the ‘Suicide/ right side’ design on my website, along with a link the the website.
If their are royalties for the use of the design please let me know.
Both my wife and I have been stuck by Trucks in the past weeks and encourage safe cycling.
Too often I see the results of bad drivers. ( I do only hear one side of the story though!)
